About Unity Primary Care
Unity Primary Care was created to offer a different kind of healthcare experience — one centered on time, trust, and meaningful relationships.
Traditional healthcare systems often limit the time physicians can spend with patients and create barriers to communication. Over time, this can lead to rushed visits, fragmented care, and a sense that patients are not fully heard or understood.
Unity Primary Care is built on a different model — one that prioritizes access, continuity, and individualized care.
Meet the Doctor
Unity Primary Care is led by Dr. Michael Lewis, a board-certified internal medicine physician based in Denver.
After training in internal medicine and working as a hospitalist, it became increasingly clear that the structure of traditional healthcare often makes it difficult to provide the kind of care many patients are looking for — thoughtful, unhurried, and grounded in long-term relationships.
That experience is what led to the creation of Unity Primary Care.

Approach to Care
Dr. Lewis’s approach to medicine is grounded in listening, collaboration, and attention to the whole person.
Health is shaped by more than diagnoses alone. It reflects a combination of medical, psychological, and social factors that deserve thoughtful consideration and time to understand.
Every patient brings a unique set of experiences, goals, and priorities. Good care requires the flexibility to tailor care accordingly, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Care is guided by evidence, but always adapted to the individual.
Direct Primary Care allows for:
Longer visits
Direct communication
Continuity over time
A focus on prevention and long-term health
The goal is to create a space where patients feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns openly, and actively participating in their care.
Areas of Focus
Unity Primary Care provides comprehensive adult primary care, with particular focus on:
Preventive and chronic disease care
Metabolic health and weight management
LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare
Gender-affirming hormone therapy
HIV prevention (PrEP) and care
Care is provided in a way that is inclusive, respectful, and responsive to each patient’s needs.
